Suvarnabhumi Airport is said to be the successor of Don Mueang International Airport in Thailand.The airport comprises of two runways which lengths 4,000 meters and 3,700 meters long.The airport is very large and has 8 parking bays fo Airbus.This airport serves domestic as well international air traffic and serves efficiently since 2006.Suvarnabhumi Airport is one of the major hub for Thai International Airways,Bangkok Airways,Thai Air Asia and many more. This airport islocated at a distance of 25 km from Bangkok in Bang Phli District.  

Why is it unique

The name Suvarnabhumi means 'golden land' it somewhere relates to South east Asia. Suvarnabhumi Airport's terminal building is very large and is the second largest terminal buildings in the world. This airport has world's lengthiest tower which is 434 ft long and the terminal building lengths 6,060,000 sq.ft. The terminal storey and the airport tower is designed by Helmut Jahn. This airport is renowned piece of architecture which signifies the Thai culture largely. Suvarnabhumi Airport has an estimated cost of US $3 billion. This airport has been honored by many awards which includes Skytrax, ACI, Smart travel magazine and Wanderlust for its world class food and services.

Suvarnabhumi Airport can handle a large crowd of more than 75 flights operations each hour. This airport can handle a traffic of more than 45 million travelers and three million tones of cargo traffic each year. The airtraffic control tower lengths 132.2m in height which is world's tallest control tower with fully equipped technologies. There is a five storey car parking built inbetween the airport terminal and the hotel hosted by the airport. One can easily access the airport from any of the five routes to the airport.
